Regular VPN Servers ProtonVPN Windows client authentication issue on Windows 7

Following security strengthening of the ProtonVPN API endpoint, we've been reported about compatibility issues that affects authentication and other API interactions for ProtonVPN Windows client running on certain configurations of Windows 7. Installing KB2992611 should fix the issue. This dependency will be enforced in the next version of ProtonVPN Windows client.

Regular VPN Servers ProtonVPN Reboot campaign

Today we'll perform our regular reboot campaign in order to apply latest security patches and the global fix to the OpenVPN disconnection issue reported in the previous week. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

We will be conducting scheduled maintenance between 8-11AM Geneva time on Sunday, November 3rd. Regular VPN Servers ProtonVPN Windows Clients 1.8.1 crashes

Following the release of new ProtonVPN servers in Serbia, all instances of the ProtonVPN Windows client version 1.8.1 crashed due to a bug. A hotfix is being deployed on the API side, but all users of the ProtonVPN Windows client version 1.8.1 are advised to update to the most recent version.

Upstream network connectivity issue

There is a network incident with an upstream provider which appears to be preventing a portion of ProtonMail users from reaching our website. We are working with upstream network providers on resolving the issue.

Regular VPN Servers Upstream network issue for Portuguese ProtonVPN servers

Due to some upstream networking issue, connectivity to our Portuguese VPN servers is partially unavailable. We are trying to resolve the issue with upstream providers.

Planned maintenance

Between 7-9AM Geneva time, we will be conducting planned maintenance operations which could result in Proton services becoming unavailable for some users for several minutes. There may also be some temporary delays in the delivery of incoming and outgoing emails.

Regular VPN Servers Short IKEv2 interruptions

In order to deploy across all ProtonVPN exits a major stability improvement to IKEv2 connectivity, small network interruption might happen on each exit for few seconds/minutes. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Partial Outage

There is a partial outage of ProtonMail and ProtonVPN impacting a significant fraction of users globally. Our engineering team is currently investigating and working on the issue and we will report back when we have more information.

ProtonVPN Website ProtonVPN website issues

We've been reported about some issues affecting the ProtonVPN website and download of application functionality. Our infrastructure team is investigating.

A failure on one of Proton's backend storage devices is making the service unavailable for some users. We have identified the issue and are working on a fix.
