As part of a major infrastructure upgrade to all ProtonVPN servers, for the next weeks, in a progressive way, some group of ProtonVPN servers will be each time in maintenance mode and unavailable for some hours in order for the upgrade to be applied. Regular VPN ServersProtonVPN French servers in maintenance mode
Due bandwidth issues affecting part of ProtonVPN French servers, the servers are in maintenance mode in order to allow the upstream data-center support to perform the necessary tests and resolution to the problems. We apologize for the inconvenience.
We have received reports that Proton is currently blocked in Russia. We are reaching out to the appropriate authorities to get the block lifted as soon as possible. While this block continues to affect ProtonMail, ProtonVPN is not blocked.
At the moment, we suggest using ProtonVPN to connect to one of our VPN servers outside of Russia to access ProtonMail.
If you are not a ProtonVPN user yet, you can download and install the ProtonVPN application for your device, log in with your existing ProtonMail account, and connect to a server. You can find a complete setup guide for new users here: https://protonvpn.com/support/protonvpn-setup-guide/

Regular VPN ServersProtonVPN Netherland servers affected by network issue in Amsterdam
Part of the ProtonVPN servers in the Netherlands are affected by a network issue in Amsterdam. We're monitoring the situation in order to understand when connectivity will be restored to its normality.
ProtonVPN South-African servers are currently suffering from networking instability from the upstream network provider. We are working with their support in order to resolve the situation as fast as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Regular VPN ServersMigration of ProtonVPN Swiss Secure Core entry servers
At 10:00 CET on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, our Swiss Secure Core entry servers (and several exit servers) will be relocated to a different data center in Switzerland. The intervention will take place in three stages.
Stage 1: There will be roughly 1-2 hours of downtime for half of the Swiss Secure Core entry servers.
Stage 2: For a few minutes (no more than 15 minutes) all of the Swiss Secure Core servers will be disconnected.
Stage 3: There will be roughly 1-2 hours of downtime for the second half of the Swiss Secure Core entry servers.
Regular VPN ServersProtonVPN Windows client authentication issue on Windows 7
Following security strengthening of the ProtonVPN API endpoint, we've been reported about compatibility issues that affects authentication and other API interactions for ProtonVPN Windows client running on certain configurations of Windows 7. Installing KB2992611 should fix the issue. This dependency will be enforced in the next version of ProtonVPN Windows client.
